I am a college student close to graduating and have done some internships and part-time work but don't have much experience.

I was wondering if I can list online selling on eBay and Amazon as a skill or part-time job for my resume? I've earned some good money and it has helped me pay off tutition fees.

Does it count with employers?

And if you decide to list it, you'll want to cite some statistics to show its validity: number of sales, your overall rating, maybe the total dollars sold.

Legitimate companies will rarely look at resumes posted online - they don't have to as in this economy they can advertise and have 500 people apply to them The only people that contact you are going to be scammers like the "Financial Advisor" (which WILL be a Nigerian money laundering scam), Shipping Clerk (which WILL be a Russian reshipping scam) or commission based jobs that have such high turnover they hire anyone they can find knowing that nobody lasts more than 2 weeks. I bet that "State Director" job is a commission based insurance sales position where you are going to have to cold call people or go door to door and will only make money if people buy a policy from you If you are posting your resume online do not put your home address - just put your city and state and create an email address that you only use for job hunting. That way if you do respond to a scammer they do not know your real account as they will end up spamming you once you respond Be skeptical of anyone who does not invite you to their office for a face to face interview - that's never going to be a legit job

Absolutely!! On-line selling can be listed as a part time job and emphasizes your abilities and proficiency with computers and E-Commerce. List it in the Work Experience section and then in the skills section of your resume. During the interview process, highlight on your selling abilites as well as the technical parts of it. It never hurts to fill your resume with "real" skills such as the ones you have been using.

Sure and put in $ amounts, employers like numbers in resumes. For example, sold $1000 monthly average in online sales of electronics.

Certainly! In fact, you should explain it exactly as you stated your question - Earned Online Income To Assist In Paying Tuition Fees. This should be a plus in any interview; it shows initiative, industry and effort.

Find a better term than online selling. Try "Internet Marketing" for example.

I listed it on my resume and I was only making $200 monthly average sales.

well it shows you are capable of online sales, marketing and advertising. capabilities are what employers look for. i would put it on. however when you get more experience and have more jobs to list i would take it off your resume.
