Question:
I'm applying for a job at Taco Bell. I'm clueless about the procedure. What should I expect?

I'm a college student and *need* part-time work. I've applied tons of other places with no results, and I'm ready to try the fast-food route. The Taco Bell near my house has had "Now Hiring" stickers up for the past few weeks, and I finally gathered up the courage to pick up an application.

I get strong society anxiety when I'm dealing with something I deem important. Getting this job is important to me because I need the money. I was just wondering what to expect when I drop off my application.

I was thinking about dropping off the application early in the morning right when they open so that I don't get nervous about the customers watching me apply. I don't know the exact procedure here. Do I ask for the manager when dropping off my application? Should I follow up my application with a phone call? What do I say over the phone when checking in? Should I first ask if it's okay that I call to check in? When would be the best time to call or go in? Would the manager only be in on weekdays? How often should I check in? Will it annoy them if I keep checking in?

I feel very lost... I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but I worry anyway.

Hey ! That's quite a lot of questions to answer lol. But I understand your situation. First of all, it is always best to ask for the manager so you can talk to him about your interest in getting a job there and so he can see you in person (Introduce yourself, tell him or her that you're a college student looking for a part-time job to save up money and acquire experience, etc.). In fast foods restaurants, they always have a manager on every shift, but i'd recommend that you go during the day, any week day during the morning would be good so you can meet the owner or the big boss (it still depends on the restaurant too). Give in your resume and you might have to fill out a form about your availability and your background (school, work, volunteering, etc.). In my opinion, you don't have to call after you've applied. You could go back to the place once or maybe twice more to apply again to really show them you want the job.

After you've done that, if you still have no answer, you could call and ask if they reviewed your application. So then they will tell you why they didn't call you (already hired enough people or other reason) or if they were gonna contact you soon. Best luck :)

i would go there early in the morning like you said and yes you can follow up with one phone call but i would leave it at that. as far as what to expect i would say a crappy paying job and being treated equally as poorly. enjoy.

I wish you luck on your process.

You can go to the front counter and let them know you have an application to drop off. At that time you can ask to speak with the manager or just drop it off.

If you don't call back that day, call the next day.

"hello taco bell, how may I help you?"

"Hello this is ( state your name ), I am calling to check on the status of my application I filled out. May I please speak to the manager"

When the manager come on the phone say the same thing.

Depending on how many have applied they might be able to set up the interview then.

However if you give the application to the manager when you hand it in, they might be able to interview you then.

They will ask you simple questions.

Let them know why you would be a good worker. Talk positive about your self. Eye Contact is very important. Remember to breath.

Getting your first job is always scary. Or being new is scary. But everyone goes through it. If you have someone that can give you a practice interview that would help you.

Look up job interviews to get an idea of what questions.

Hope this helps.

---- if when you call to check on the statis of the application, if they cant set up a time them. Call back every other day or 3 times a week.,

That will let the manager know you are serious about getting hired.

wear casual clothes. Smile, look presentable. Not too much make up ect.

ask a person who works at the cash register what you should do with the application. if the manager is not there then ask when he will be there. then call at the time he will be there
