Question:
How does an education background check work?

I am up for a position and they are in the process of running different background checks on me. The one that concerns me is the education background check.

I am exactly one class shy of earning the BS degree that I claimed on my CV. I walked during graduation and everything, but I never got the *incomplete* for that class cleared up and, hence, never completely fulfilled my graduation requirements.

In an education background check, do companies verify that you have the degree or just that you attended the university during the dates you claimed?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

An education verification typically will verify the highest level of degree obtained. If you did not actually graduate, then it will be reported as such. Many colleges and universities have chosen to outsource their verifications to a third party, so the background screening company usually does not even talk to the school to find any additional information. I would suggest clearing this up. As a follow up, there are fewer companies that verify education backgrounds then criminal backgrounds.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH3gH

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

This is the best option to get a background check https://tr.im/G1CLx It is important to keep in mind that a free background check on the Internet will only take you so far and also that some companies may only update their information periodically therefore you may be looking at information that is no longer relevant (such as an address for example). Before beginning a search on someone else consider doing one on yourself to see what information you come across. Is the education information accurate or not?

Hey Mike:

An education background will show:

1. Your GPA for the time you were in that school;

2. Your degree status (in this case incomplete);

3. The month and year that the degree was awarded to you (if at all).

If you haven't told the employer this, you should do it now. An employer usually has language in their application that nullifies an applicant's status if the information given is not correct or is incomplete. This means that you are at risk for losing this opportunity with this company.

Call the recruiter immediately, and let them know that this is what they may find in the educational review. Also, be prepared to tell them how you have corrected the problem.

If you haven't, get on the phone right now with your university to clear this up now. Good luck.

I just tried https://backgroundreports.im this past year to find out if I could find my birth-parent. My biological father left me when I was 7, and has refused to speak to me since. I grew up with my biological Mother and Step-father. I have only ever contacted my biological dad a couple times to date. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his full name, and the city of a previous address he used to have.

When the results came back based on the little bit of info I had, It pulled up a recent address and even a phone number. When I called the #, I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my bio father) was Home, and he said no but to try back after dinner.

I haven't done anything with the info, But yeah I found what I was wanting to have.

Depends on the position and industry...

If having a degree is required for the position, they will verify that the degree was actually achieved. If not, attendance is what they will be looking for.

Be aware though that lying about your level of education, whether the degree is required or not, tells them loads about the type of employee you are. Even if they don't require you to have the degree and they find out you lied, that alone could eliminate you from the running.

There is only one reliable, trusted source for this type of information. As a current P.I and former DT for LA Narcotics, I can only attest to the following as being legitimate:

It can be as simple as a call to the university's registrar to verify the dates attended and the degree conferred.
