Question:
I reapplied for a job that had been re-posted. Should I call the recruiter to ask about the status of my job application?

I applied for a job 2 months ago and I talked to the recruiter on the phone. The job seemed interesting and I was hoping to be selected. However, she never got back to me and I soon found another job. Unfortunately, the new job was not what I expected it to be. So, I quit and am currently looking for another job. While I was looking, I saw that the first job that I applied for got re-posted. Hence, I reapplied. Because of my profile setting on the job portal, I can view the status of my job application. The recruiter had viewed my profile for 6 times; probably deciding to hire me or not. My question is that since I have the recruiter's number from the first time we talked, do you think it's wise if I send her a message asking about the job and if they have found a suitable candidate?

If they viewed your profile 6 times and did not contact you for an interview, there's something missing.

It probably won't hurt if you do it right. Make it a really upbeat note, something like "I really admired the company from interviewing with them before and was disappointed that it didn't work out but see that the job has been reposted and feel it would be a great fit for me. Hoping you will give me a shot in this position as I feel I can bring a lot to the company and that I will benefit from working there as well" - not that exactly but tailor it to what you want to say. May not help but probably won't hurt and coudl sway them in your favor if they are on the fence about you.

After 2 months they probably already have.. The worst they can say is that they filled the position so go for it but don’t be surprised.. No company is going to wait more than a month to hire someone for an open position. Next time don’t quit unless you already have a job lined up.

No harm in asking, do it.
