Is it a good sign when an employer responds to a thank you email?

So, I recently had an interview for a position that I very much want. Afterwards, I sent thank you emails to the employers who interviewed me, and to my surprise, they responded. One even said that she was impressed with the interview. Should I put any promise into this, or should I just take it for what it is? I would normally get excited about something like this, since no one s ever responded to my thank you emails before, but I know all too well how quickly hopes of employment can come crashing down, so I don t want to get too ahead of myself. Any thoughts?...

Yes, it's a good sign, at least that you made a good impression. The experts say that sending a thank-you note is a good practice, showing you have good manners and are prepared to go an extra step.

For my part, when I was interviewing for professional jobs, I used to handwrite thank-you notes and mail them, but e-mails can be just as effective.

Not really a good sign, but certainly not a bad sign. Don't read too much into it. good luck.

Many of these are computer=generated response.

Don;t assume anything. Nothing is 'good' until you get a call giving you a starting date and stating a salary. , keep looking
