Electrical Engineering Bachelors
3 years of field experience as an electrician
4 years as a project coordinator in bulk power
4 months as a project manager in commercial real estate development
I'm confident I made a good move getting into commercial real estate, but I really need to jump start my career into something with more upward mobility....

Typically project managers move up in the world by managing bigger and bigger projects, and perhaps managing other project managers.

I'm a retired electrical engineer, and I've found that almost any new experience you undertake will build your resume and make you a desired candidate for the right job. You sound like you want to grow in your job responsibility and make more money as fast as you can. I like the commercial real estate investment area myself, but have no experience with it. One thing I know is that energy costs are going to increase dramatically in the coming decades due to limited fuel supplies and that efficient use of electrical energy will be an important economic factor for the commerical real estate market. So what I'm suggesting is that you look at the fundamental economic and technology trends you see coming over your remaining career and try to capitalize on them. What will the market want and how much are they willing to pay for it?

Are you interested in shift work like 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off? If so you might check out the link below...

The company I work for has openings on Alaska's North Slope. In fact, there's an opening in my department for an E&I QC Inspector right now! The company has several other projects across the U.S. as well.

We're always looking for good E&I folks. Do you have an Administrators License? Do you have a Journeyman's License. Are you NICET certified?

What businesses value better than a level is journey. in case you may get journey doing a number of the basics of undertaking artwork like shape inspection, expediting, etc then this is achieveable so which you may artwork as much as undertaking administration for particular style of initiatives. those could probable be commercial style initiatives and not heavy business style initiatives.

If you have the contacts, open a construction business. If you have the cash -- buy one.
