Question:
To save gas, can we live like the old days? We got Fax machine, email, and phone, why not work at home?

Well the old days, doctors and nurses and midwives
would come to the house to treat you.

And if you have to have surgery, then really gotta go to the Hospital.

And plus... we got Fax machine, computer, printer, word process, email, phone, and things like that.

And I don't understand why people rather get up in the morning, fix and eat breakfast, put on clothes, take care
personal hygiene, drive to work, say hello to everyone at the office, and push pencil, working 9 to 5.

I think working at home would save us money and not have to use gas and all.

Why not? Is it a good idea to work at home, instead of an office? And to have doctors, nurses, and midwives to come to your home.

What you're really saying is that you don't really want to have to work at all, you'd much rather sit at home, doing nothing, and have people who are working every day support your lazyass.

This country (and others) could save a lot of money in gas if more positions were telecommute. A lot of companies are coming around and offering it, but it will take some time I think. The biggest problem is that companies want to make sure their employees are actually working and not goofing off and wasting time. I think all data entry positions should be from home. There are thousands upon thousands of people out there who could benefit greatly from those. Most people would even accept a slightly smaller pay scale for the ability to work at home, saving the company money. I think it's a trend that will grow with time.

Not sure if that would fly quite yet. Believe me, if companies could save a buck by having less office space, electric bills, ect, they would. So there must be an intangible factor holding them back.

My theory has always been, give people 4 10 hour work days instead of 5 8s. Obviously, that can't fly at a lot of companies/business just do to the nature of them. But I imagine that many companies not related to retail or customer service could easily just have their people come in 4 days a week instead of 5.

It would save gas, electricity and people who work hours like that absolutely love it. I think it would increase productively also. How many people spend the first and last 30 minutes of a work day screwing off, catching up on what happened, counting the minutes, ect? Thats an hour a day, 5 hours a week. If they are working 4 days, that is an hour less down the tube....It adds up quickly for mid-big sized companies.

I think you are on the money. Working from home is an ideal way of life .. not much stress ..office cooler gossip . long commute. I could not do that gain . I worked as A Radiology Technologist and gave it all up for a more lucrative home business . Greeting cards . Everyone send them so what better business especially if you can send them from your computer without ever leaving "real stamped customized greeting and for less than what you pay in the store without the hassle here is my home based business.

You can also call or email me http://www.oprahgreetingcards.com and while you are there send a card on me. You will be blown away by the technology and what you can do from home.
