Will a Youtube reputation affect getting a professional careers?

I have been thinking about making Youtube videos on an inside look into my bizarrely "unique" life.

Only think is, I was wondering how that may effect my future life, being that I strive towards getting a doctorate. My personality isn't very typical (I'm like a male Boxxy, toned down by 10%. "Shane Dawson inappropriate").

Would you say it would be a bad idea?

It all depends on the type of videos you present because in today's age it is a common practice for employers to do an internet search on potential candidates (it is more often done than not) so it all depends on the online impact you have. If your videos are rude, offensive or immature you may find your options limited. It all depends on what your videos are.

That's a good question. I don't think it will necessarily effect it but just be aware that they can pull it up anytime they want and use it against you.
