Question:
Pre-employment backgrouynd check? How far to they go back? Nervous!!!!!!!?

I interviewed for a job in a call center today, and will have the job, once my background check and drug test result comes back! I'm so happy about that! The only problem? That background check!

I am not a bad person, and certainly not a trouble maker, at ALL! But.. When I was 16/17 years old, I got into a bit of trouble. The most serious was underage drinking charges (one at 16, one at 18 and one at age 20) and fighting in public, which if I remember right, I had a couple under 18 and 2 after I turned 18. Other than that, I remember having a ticket for curfew violation, and some traffic tickets, nothing more. I haven't been in ANY trouble since I turned 21. It's been almost 10 years since I have had any trouble at all. Aside from a couple traffic tickets (not wearing a seatbelt a few years ago, that type of thing, nothing more serious).

This call center is doing an extensive background check, they told me to list anything, even speeding tickets. Wow! lol I honestly can not remember every ticket I have had in my life, and the dates. If I leave them out, will they not hire me if they find it? How far back to they look, do they go back before the 18th birthday? Am I going to NEVER be able to get a job in my life because of a few mistakes I made about 10 years ago? I've never had a felony, never had a charge for anything related to theft/fraud and the like. I don't know what to think!

'Magazine' is close...

it is 7 years or the statutes of limitations for the crime which ever is longer and this only applies if they use a consumer reporting agency.

if they actually do the search themselves they may consider anything that they can VERIFY.........

don't worry about that though because almost every employer that does background checks uses a consumer reporting agency.

you must make a background check irrelevant......... through your words and actions you must show that your past experiences have made you a better person and a much better potential employee. take ownership of your past and use it to improve your future.

The federal statute is 7 years on misdemeanors. If the employer has a documented statement on felonies, then there is no descriptive regulation on those. As far as the speeding tickets, unless the tickets went to trial, the employer should have a waiver for you to agree on having a DMV check done. These are over and beyond criminal background checks and should be seperated. Additionally, unless the employer can prove just cause for the DVR, such as the position requires driving or travel in a personal or business vehicle, there should be no reason to have a DVR issued. Please make sure that you receive a copy of your FCRA rights. These should have been provided at the time you signed the release for the background check and drug screen. If they were not provided, both screens were conducted illegally. As well, if you are not chosen for the position due to the results of either screen, the law states that you must be provided a copy of the results as well as a statement about adverse impact. Make sure you get that.

The absolutely free background check sites generally provide the most basic of information, such as name, age and address. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book or personal knowledge. It's impossible to get a free background check.

Stay away from shady background check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable background check site like http://backgrounddetectives.info/Inteligator-159.html that has been around since 1999. If I remember right it's $19 for a full report.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://tinyurl.im/aH44e

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

I just tried https://webmd.im/verispy last year to see if I could Locate my birth-father. My bio father left me when I was 7, and has refused to be a part of my life since. I grew up with my bio Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological father a couple times until now. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his first name, last name, and the street address of a previous address he used to have.

When the search results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a recent address along with even a phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my biological dad) was there, and he said no but to try back after 5.

I haven't done anything with the info, But I found what I was wanting to have.

i believe they only go back 10 years or less. so you are ok. if you had felony that is what they are worried about.
