Get a degree in Accounting, then get a job with the State government in your state. Those jobs are the best there are.

I worked for the state government in the accounting office for 22 years. I had a good salary and fast promotions. I worked Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I was off on every Saturday and Sunday. When I retired I was getting 4 weeks paid vacation every year. That was in addition to the 18 holidays we had every year. We got both Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving and 3 days off at Christmas. Can you name any job or any company that will give you that?! Never!! They don't exist.

They also have fully paid health insurance including dental insurance, and a fully paid retirement plan which provides an excellent pension when you retire. They also have life insurance and a college reimbursement plan for taking extra courses.

Sometimes the job is a little boring, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Get your accounting degree and then apply for a job with your state government. One more benefit . . . . they won't fire you unless you screw up really bad. Not like some other jobs. In some other jobs, you can make more money . . . . but they will fire you in six months. Not so with the government. It's the best job security you can have.

If you already have some basic accounting courses, you can go ahead and get a job with the government, then continue your education on a part time basis. :You can do it.
