Post Interview Wait?

Ive recently inquired about a job~so I had a lenghty phone interview. I had a face to face interview, which seemed to have gone well. So, I waited a few days and I didnt hear back from them. So I decided to contact the office...and I was told that they were "waiting" to hear from me~ and since they had not they "assumed that I was not interested? In addition, the staff member that I met with didnt even talk to me, she relayed a message though the receptionist !

HM be happy you did not work for them. Any corporation that is so unscrupulous and ill mannered is certainly a place you wouldn't want to work for. Thank your lucky stars. I have never heard of such a thing. They just didn't have the balls to say we decided to hire someone else. What jerk's. So sorry this happened to you.

It seems that every HR person has his/her own Thought on this. Some "wait" to hear from you without telling you that they are offering you the job and are thus waiting. That's a dumb tactic. Others want to make their selection after interviewing a number of applicants, and do not want to be bothered with everyone interviewed calling back the next day.

This is an area in which you have to get clarity right from the get-go. When you shake hands and get ready to leave, find out if you are expected to wait, or to call back. If the HR person doesn't say " we'll get back to you by ( day), then ask if you should inquire by a time certain. Don't let it hang like that.

BR persons wield more power than they deserve, and some don't know how to wield it nicely.

If they were that sloppy to not call YOU back they were too F'ed up to be worth working for anyway. No respectable company will leave you holding the bag for several days while they hem and haw about hiring you or not after an interview.
