Pay Question: How does the 'week in hand' thing work?

Question

i started my first job last sunday, since then i have worked tuesday and am going to work sat and sun this weekend.
my mums friend who works there says they use the 'week in hand' way of paying people
pay day is on friday,
but my mums friend says i wont get paid this friday,l but next friday.
my question is, next friday, will i only get paid for the days i did this week? or if i do any extra days next week will i get paid for them too? or would i get paid for them the week after that?

please help! soooo confusing!!

You will be paid for Sunday and Tuesday this Friday and next Friday you will be paid for Saturday and Sunday and any other days you work upto Friday. This will continue that you will be paid the Friday of the week after you work. Most places work this system.

You will be paid a week in arrears. So next week you will get paid for all the days you did this week. In 2 weeks time you will get paid for all the days you work next week.

You don't get paid for two weeks. They need your card with all your hours on for the week, then they calculate what you have earned and pay it into your account which takes a few days to clear..

it means u get paid 4 the week b4 an that means wen u leave that job u have another wage a week after u leave i.e the week in hand

it means you are getting paid for the work you did the week b4. e.g you work mon,tue and sat this week. you will be paid the following fri. and all the shifts you do in bewteen you get paid the following. :)
