Well I wouldn't expect to hear back from a closed posting until at least 3 business days. You should follow up from a job posting within 3 to 5 of the close date. This give the hiring manager a chance to review all the applicants and make a decision about who he/she will interview. Some hiring managers do look as resumes as the come in (while the posting is open) but most wait until the application dead-line is past, so that everyone gets the same amount of time for review.

I especially wouldn't expect to hear back on a weekend.

Since it closed today I wouldn't worry about your chances just yet. If you follow-up next week to inquire about the hiring process and interview, and just to show that you are still very interested and eager, it will definitely increase your chances.

If it just came down today, the company hiring still needs to sort through all of the resumes/applications before they can down select for an interview. I'd send a letter expressing my interest in a couple of days and then be patient.

If the company made job posting after you applied and interviewed, it means that the co. wasn't satisfied with the candidates interviewed so far and wanted to seek more applicants. You can always call politely and find out.

That just means that they are no longer taking resumes..call them and find out what your status is with the company.

Call them and ask them. Maybe they're waiting on you to call.
