I applied to work at CVS back in June. After several calls and visits they finally agreed to hire me. This entire process took about a month. I started training, and worked a total of three days before they said they had to cut back hours. They said i would be able to get hours again in September. I couldn't wait that long for a job, but decided not to quit in case i still needed the job in the future. However, I have been trying to be paid for the days i did work, and i keep getting jerked around. Because i was in training, they never had me punch in, so the only way they kept track of my hours was the manager, who is totally incompetent, disorganized and rude. To top it all off, they fired me july 10th, and never bothered to tell me. Arizona law says i should have gotten my paycheck next time payroll comes around. Now, a month and a half later, the manager is still giving excuses like "i'll look into it" or "the systems are down". I just dont know what to do at this point. I called Human resources and they gave me the number to a district manager. I called and the number had been disconnected. I'm a college student, and CVS has wasted three months of my life trying to get a check that will probably amount to about $200 total, before taxes. I just want to know who to talk to

click on this link and follow the instructions to file a wage claim

http://www.ica.state.az.us/Divisions/labor/wage_claims.html

do not drive there any more, don't waste anymore of your money on gas. call the store tell them to produce your check within 24 hours or you will file a wage claim. if they give you any excuse or fail to have your pay file the claim and let the state do there job.

Contact the person in HR again and tell them the number was disconnected. At that time, also tell them that you've wasted enough time and you'll be in contact with the state attorney general if they continue to withhold your money. If nothing more happens, go ahead and get in touch with the attorney general's office. They should have the clout to help.

Or, you could go to the media. Some TV stations have consumer advocates on staff that investigate and expose a company's misbehavior. CVS won't want the bad publicity.

File a complaint with the Department of Labor in Arizona. They should have an office called something like "wage and hour compliance" or something like that.
