I know it's quite broad to answer, but what are some good careers to get into with good prospects later in life?
I used to want to be an artist/musician but they're only good for hobbies as everyone says.

I'm good at a little bit everything, but I don't excel in anything.
I have an opportunity to study at university, but I don't know if it's worthwhile.
Ideally I would like to travel, and make bigger money as I progress further in the career.

The first thing you'll need to do is stop listening to everyone who says being an artist/musician is only good for hobbies. People say that when their own dreams don't pan out the way they want them to. And that happens because they're full of doubt and not built to put in the hard work it takes to succeed.

A career in sales/marketing is usually ideal for someone who likes to travel and that is comfortable speaking (one-on-one and publicly) and promoting a product/service. You can start in the field without attending college, as there are plenty companies willing to train you. There are also plenty of online communities where sales and marketing professionals share their experiences, responsibilities and the pros/cons of their work.

You mentioned that you're good at a lot of things, but don't excel at any of them. Well, which of the things that you're good at do you like doing the most? Exploring that avenue could uncover a "good career" for you.

Before I finish, I just have to say that maybe you should focus more on building yourself into the person you really want to be in life. People who are highly paid AND happy in their careers are those who do something they're passionate about. They are able to make large salaries because their passion kept them working harder than their peers while they climbed the professional ladder.

I'd hardly day that artists/musicians don't make money or have good careers. Turn on MTV and take a look at the millionaires.

There are a lot of successful musicians that webntto University including these 'Gangsta Rappers'.

Do what you enjoy. As they say, if you find a job you love, then you will never work another day in your life.

Best of luck :)

Just believe in yourself and have faith in your abilities in that way you can surpass any dilemmas you will encounter and achieve success. Vision what you really want in your life and in your future then make necessary action to the plans that you make but be sure to be consistent in things that you do or your choosen craft. Always remember the elements of success which is determination, perseverance and hardwork then you will never go wrong. I am passionate about playing guitar for 3 years now and compose my own songs because I was able to express my emotions and it is very relaxing try http://www.thetopguitars.com they have wide selections of custom made guitar which is very affordable for beginners. And also, photography is really nice hobby because you can see nature and travel places and there is alot of affordable digital cameras or DSLR like cannon, nikon or samsung the choice is yours. Volunteering in an organization with special people is really nice as well wherein you can able to help people who are in need. Hope it helps :) justicefordimebag
