I got laid off about a month ago as a BD-J Engineer(software programmer) and its been very very difficult lately to get a job. I've been applying to every staffing agency, every job on monster.com that reflects my background experience, and just about anything I can do at the moment. What more can I do, should change the way I present myself, like talking or communication? The thing is I don't have the most attractive voice, its kinda a pitchy, and I'm thinking thats what is causing my job hunting more difficult. Please any advice, I only have about 2 months worth of rent money left.

You might want to think about asking for cash advance or even try to collect unemployment that should cover your rent for a while. Honestly its not you its just the economy. Your not the only one in this boat many are with you feeling your pain.

Wow sorry to hear about your situation. One question. Have you watched a movie called Office Space, the possibilities are basically unlimited. I think you should take whatever job you can get until you can find an ideal job. If you only have 2 months of rent left the money situation seems to need fixing first so that you have some sort of income. It might be time to try a different strategy in your job hunt. Rather than go with the websites, try writing letters to companies that you are interested in working for. Hope that helps.
