Does anyone know of any legit "work from home" websites?? I'm looking for a part-time job to do after my full-time job, but I'm wondering if any "work from home" deals are legit.

First of all - be very cautious about clicking on the links provided in some of the answers - they are referral links which means they get paid for what you do. They are not really interested in answering your question or helping you out - they are interested only in making money off you.

Most people who work at home and are successful are doing one of two things - getting paid a commission on everyone they convince to join the program (also known as MLM or pyramid plans) OR they have their own business. Your own business is something you create yourself, not find on the internet. You create it based on your skills, your passions not on what someone else tells you is the GREATEST thing going.

If you are looking at one of the endless "opportunities" out there be careful - most are scams. Here are a few questions you should ask to help figure out if the one you are looking at is for real or not.

Legitimate work-at-home program should tell you - in writing - what's involved in the program they are selling. Here are some questions you might ask:

* What tasks will I have to perform? (Ask the program to list every step of the job.)

* Will I be paid a salary or will my pay be based on commission?

* Who will pay me?

* When will I get my first paycheck?

* What is the total cost of the work-at-home program, including supplies, equipment and membership fees?

* What will I get for my money?

All the work from home jobs I've found are scams. I almost gave up on the idea until a friend of mine showed me a home based business to get involved in. It's a business, not a job, as with any business there's a start up cost. Just like if you were to open up some restaurant or a store. But with those, You're continuously dishing out money every month for various different things. With a home based business, there's just a one time start up cost, with the business I got involved in there isn't any dishing out money all the time. I thank God for what I'm able to have with this company. I have my time and financially set. both my husband and I are able to have one on one time (when the kids are in school) and have family time and do what we want. I also have the time to go fishing with my dad etc. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone in the world! I have the best of both worlds! If you'd like to see what I am doing, E-mail me and I'll be happy to show you!

Yes you're right, there are a lot of scams going on now on 'working from home' it a real struggle separating the woods from the trees. There is very little one can do to stop these things happening other than be on the guard. What I generally find helpful and useful is to check websites that conduct independent reviews on money making programs including work-from-home offers. Just type the phrase "work from home review websites" into Google and do a little digging and you'll find a few gems amongst the huge rubbish out there. You can also visit this website for reviewed programs at http://www.cash-pot.com/makemoney.html

Yes, they are legit. You just have to know where to look. I searched for months and tried ebay and all of that jazz. What I realized is that you do not need to have your own product or business to make great money from home. I started with Treasure Trooper 2 months ago along with other sites and have made over $2,000.00. If you are interested in learning more check out my blog. If you ever have any questions, email me or post a comment on my blog. Good Luck!

Just make sure that any work at home opportunities that you're looking at don't require any money up front. You should never have to pay to get a job. 99% of the time if they require money up front, then they are a scam. Also, any time you get the information about a work at home company, check them out through the Better Business Bureau.

You can try paid surveys. I am doing online paid survey business and making a good income. Doing paid surveys is fun because you get your opinions counted on many different topics and the best part is that you get paid for having fun!

I have joined free survey programs in the past such as treasuretroopers, ripwallet but they do not offer too many survey opportunities to make enough money.

Then I joined paid survey programs such as Survey Scout, Expresspaidsurvey, Survey Savvy. Many were scams because the list of survey companies in their directory were outdated.

I only managed to make a decent amount of money after joining Maximum Paid Surveys through this link (You can watch a video of the program here). The program offer 760 legitimate paid survey companies for you to choose from.

Inside the members area, they will give you a step-by-step guidance to your survey business so it is quite impossible that you do not make money.

It cost about $40 to join but I recover that amount on the 2nd day of joining after completing several surveys.

I do typing for a transcription company. They email me the recordings, and I email them back transcripts. I knew it was legitimate because they never asked me to pay them - THEY paid ME for the training. I work about 4 hours a day and make about r200 ($28) a day. In South Africa that's a good wage - not sure if it's worth it in other countries though. You need to be reasonably fast at typing, and good with language.
