I don't know- I really think that it depends on the job. Certainly there are more positions that have to be filled with minorities because of affirmative action, but most top coporate positions are still filled overwhelmingly with white males.
This isn't going to be solved just by heaping on more affirmative action. Living standards, education quality, and a number of other factors need to be raised for many minorities before they can start being represented fairly in the top strata of business.

depends on who you ask. The grass is always greener on the other side so each side think the other has it better
I am a black person and did not think i got any preferential treatment at any of my jobs. I honestly felt i lost some jobs because of my race. I have a very common name and sound "white" on the phone you can see the shock when i show up at some interviews.

I don't think so. I watched a show (I can't remember its name) about racism in America. They applied to different jobs with African-American names like Aisha and Tisha and they applied to the same jobs with names that African Americans don't usually have. The acceptance rate for the applications of the African American names was much less than the white ones. Sad isn't it?

The obvious answer is no. Most companies claim to be equal opportunity employers, but honestly, the hiring manager will hire who he or she thinks is best for the job and it will only matter what that person thinks.
