from age 18-25 I managed my parents dry cleaners while attending school part time to be a history teacher but decided I didn’t want to go to school for that anymore so I graduated with an associates in general studies and never went back to school. From age 25-28 I worked as a beauty advisor at Macy’s but then they closed 2 months after I got hired so then I got a job at Dillard’s full time as a beauty advisor and worked there from 2016-2017, I left that job for an assistant manager position at Sephora inside of jcpenny which I hated and left after only 4 months of being there due to bad toxic general manager who also quit her job the same week I left that place. After that I worked at Olive Garden for a year and three months as a server (I started off as a hostess) I worked there from april 2017-July 2018 and quit because I broke my foot. I moved states recently and worked at tilted kilt from October 2018 till jist last week because of toxic managers yet again (other workers complained about them as well but just either decide to deal or get fired for petty reasons) anyways I was looking for a month straight before I decided to leave and got tons of interviews but no one hired me. I didn’t put tilted kilt on my resume because of the stigma. I don’t understand why no cosmetic departments will hire me cuz I have experience and also idk why no one else will hire me as a server cuz I have a years experience. I am 30 years old does my age have something to do with it? Advice?!

You need a better education or training to get better than minimum-wage jobs. As you get older this is going to be a bigger and bigger problem if you don't do something about it now.

maybe it's time to learn a new skill that's more marketable and in demand. have you considered the military? if you have a high school diploma, no medical issues or criminal history, you should be qualified to serve. some branches you can enlist up until you're 39. it's only four years long, and you'll earn the training, skills, and relevant experiences companies are looking for. they have hundreds of jobs that aren't all combat or infantry related. look around, you might be surprised of what they offer. then see a recruiter.

There's nothing really special about you. You've held many jobs - waitress & beauty consultant. You're just run of the mill unskilled manual labor. Nothing special about your general education degree either. Now if your degree was in something sought after: engineering, or computers, or accounting, you would be more sought after.

All you can do, is keep trying. Or go back to school & get a degree in something that employers are looking for.

"From age 25-28 I worked as a beauty advisor at Macy’s but then they closed 2 months after I got hired"

Perhaps your resume makes as much sense as this? If it does, it goes in the garbage.

And applying for jobs you generally do when you're 19 at 30 does become a problem after a while. Perhaps it's time to consider what you want to do with life beyond minimum wage retail? That's not a growth industry - stores are shutting down as people choose to buy product online.

How about signing up with some temporary job agencies. Even if you're a temp worker, it still may show potential employers that you are motivated to work, and perhaps you may include that on the job applications that you fill out.
