Pros and cons of being an Assistant Retail Store Manager?

What are the pros and cons of being an Assistant Retail Store Manager. What do you like about your job, and what don't you like? What advice would you give someone who is thinking about becoming an Assistance Retail Store Manager?

I did that job for several years. The only pro is that you might get a discount at that store. The cons are low pay and long hours. 50 hour weeks are common, even longer during peak seasons. You might end up working longer if your relief calls out sick and no one else can replace you. Most retail stores will work you hard with little additional help.



It's not a job that I recommend for anyone.
