Well I'm 19 and at a job that I hate, I would like a career that I atleast look forward to. I like messing with wires and trouble shooting tech and was always fascinated with speakers. I have no idea what sort of career that would be, I also hate being the one in charge I'm more of a follow directions kinda Guy. Math is not my strong suite. Any career ideas? So I could research them and maybe find a college that teaches that. I just want a good future for myself. Thanks for any help :)

Electronics technicians do a lot of what you're talking about. These jobs range from home audio and theatre installations to car audio to cable/telecoms to security and access control positions. Being an electrician might be in your career path as well if you start here and like it. Check with a local trade school (like lincoln tech or ITT) or your local electric union.

You might also enjoy being a mechanic or working in construction. Both are fields you can build into a career and build into your own businesses if you like them enough. Best thing to do is find people who do those jobs and ask them about them. Buy them a "soda" (since you're under 21) and ask them about their work and how they enjoy it and if they think you should be union or on your own. You might even want to be a handyman that does odd jobs all over the place. There's a old lady down the street that I do things for all the time and I love the work (replace a fan, add lights to the building, fix a door, rehang a painting, etc)

Aside from those jobs there are also many jobs, across many industries that require reasoning skills to everyday problems. Trouble shooting and solving problems is good for almost any job and with the right job search, you just might find what you're looking for.

When in doubt, talk with people about their experiences. Even family members might offer a lot more information than you'd expect if you show some interest.
