Should I put my typing speed on my Resumé?

I'm applying for an Administrator position and I'm wondering if it's necessary to include my typing speed on my Resumé.
- And if so, where in the Resumé should it go?
- Also, do I use the speed it was at the time I graduated high school (5 years ago), or should I do some online typing test like Mavis Beacon and display that as my speed instead?
- And then do I need to include the Mavis Beacon certificate in my Resumé?

Hmm, I would personally note down and in the interview, you'll probably be asked and it's something you already have the answer to, it's always good to have the answers to questions which are bound to be ask in interviews written down :)

Hello ,

Yes i think you should put ypur typing speed as of now not 5 years ago, test yourself its pretty simple to do,

It does show your capability to type quickly if nesesary,

Put it in the part where your trying to sell yourself sayign your good at working in a team etc.... Just mention

'' i am also a very fluent typer and am able to type '' words per minute.

Every little helps!

Don't include the Mavis Beacon certificate with your resume & don't list MB on your resume...do, however, put your current typing speed on your resume if you're looking for a job that requires typing.

Put a section listing your skills. You can put your typing and ten key speeds (if ten key is part of what you're looking for). Put what software packages you know how to use proficiently and you could even put your proficiency level if you want. For instance, Microsoft Word - intermediate level, Microsoft Excel - advanced level, Publisher - some proficiency, etc....

I wouldn't include it unless you were a champion speed-typist. If they are concerned about speed, they'll test you. In any case, speed 5 years ago has little if anything to do with now.

I don't think your interviewer would mind, any bit of information that you might think useful is worth mentioning. It gives your interviewer a larger horizon of your skills. Reading speed would be good to mention also as it could imply that you can gather information quickly but also "do more work" in a sense.

If you do put it in your CV do it as of now, i'm sure they wouldn't want to know the speed of it 5 years ago,

Mine is about 60

Yes, that would definitely benefit you. The 5 year old one is probably out of date so you should do a newer one and include those figures, unless they are worse, in which case use your old ones.

No, give them something to ask you at the interview.
