I go through a 7 month program and get Certified before apply for that job.

I want to become a Pharmacist but working a part-time job at $7.50 an hour. Leaves me little income to support myself for the education necessary. I was also thinking that having the experience before becoming a Pharmacist. Might also boost the amount I can ask for after College.

If there are more steps or a better way to go about this please let me know.

I would suggest NOT going to school. It's a waste of time and money. You can study on your own to take the certification test and save a whole lot of money in the progress.

I studied for the test and passed it (without going to school) when I was 18. I got a pharmacy technician job in a hospital (with no experience) and I've been a technician now for almost 10 years for different hospitals.

Most hospitals DO want you to have some sort of experience however. So, you may have to start working retail (like CVS, Walgreens, etc) for a few months and work your way into a hospital.

Also, if you want to go to pharmacy school look into loans, scholarships, and grants. It's VERY expensive. Good luck to you!

Nope. Most techs are transfers from other departments at a retail pharmacy. Hospitals won't hire you until you have experience.

yes go to school and get certified. apply for a pell grant and a student loan, those are always guaranteed to get. the school will have all the info you need to apply and will help you.
