I could feel the heat on my body like 1000 flamethrowers. A million things were running through my head. I knew this would be my moment. I dashed toward the line and executed a perfect 720 vertical flip with my bike. My bike is my passion, just like my passion for your company. Hi, my name is Billy Goldstein and I am the best candidate to fill this position for your company. Im unpresumptiously intelligent, fastidiously fervent, and I've got the can-do spirit. People often say they can't believe how fast and good I work, well that was before I worked at your company. They're in for a rude awakening when I join your organization. I've traveled all around the world. I've swam in 15 seas, and I've been in numerous street fights, cages fights, and I've seen some real hum-dingers. I've gone 100 meters under the sea and meditated in the 14,400 foot peak of Pike's peak in Colorado. I'm really good at answering emails and making documents in microsoft word and I am flexible in my travel schedule. Even though I don't know you, I feel that we are kindred spirits as you read this cover letter. You were put on earth for a purpose, and perhaps that purpose is manifesting itself as you read my resume. I really hope to hear back from your company. You can mail, call, or e-mail me any time of day. Thank you. Sincerely,

Clearly this is a fake cover letter so I feel kind of stupid for reading the whole thing.

This is a formatt that I have used for years and always gotten a call back for a interview. Add your name and address phone etc. A company wants to know more about career experience and not personal interests so much. The may think that you are not interested in a position that is considered boring by the standards you have set in this coverletter.

Dear Human Resource Department,

I am interested in the Security Officer position. Upon reviewing this position, I believe that I can make a substantial contribution to your team.

The ability to notice details and write accurate daily reports was an integral part of my previous position at Allied Barton Security Services. My daily activities varied from patrolling the interior and exterior of the building and reporting any suspicious activity on the premises of the site. Being able to remain professional and courteous to the staff and guests of the building was a major part of my position. An attribute I am sure to be able to incorporate with your company.

I am particularly impressed by your company because I perform best in energetic, creative work environments.I would like an opportunity to discuss career possibilities for me with this company in the near future at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely yours,

What the heck is this supposed to be?

Are you writing a novel? That's what it looks like to me!

Omg are you serious? This looks awful! You are not being professional AT ALL!

You need to learn how to take things more seriously!

REWRITE IT LIKE THIS-

Don't expect a call anytime soon. Cover letters are supposed to directly address why your experience and education are suited for the job as advertised.
