Although sometimes a call after you submit your resume is helpful, but the prime to express your interest is in your cover letter on your resume. The letter stays with your resume and may be read by all who are concerned with hiring. With computers it is easy to tailor each cover letter to a specific job posting, or general employment opportunities. Doing some research, including talking to your friends mother to get some inside idea of what they are looking for, and how you will provide what they want.

The next time you will have a chance is at the interview. Be prepared and do your homework so you can demonstrate your interest in the company and be able to explain your desire to be a part of it. If you want to make a call regarding your application start off by saying you are checking to see they received your application and resume. Then tell the person your concern stems from this being your dream jib, and you want to ensure that you completed all the application requirements correctly, and if there is any added information they would like. Go on to tell why you want the job, and why you are the best candidate without saying I am the best candidate. This will be good practice for the interview. Best of luck The PracticaL Mentor
