What career should i choose? people tell me to choose something that i like.. but then i don't even know what i like. I wanted to work as a civil engineer, but then chose to do a degree in finance.. now i'm thinking about doing Engineering alongside as well. The only reason i want to do engineering alongside is because, the pay is great. greater than the finance industry, atleast from where i live in. I'm frustrated right now, i enjoy doing finance though. When i think about the work of a civil engineer, it keeps me at bay.. I really don't like to get my hands dirty... I simply want to suit up, stay in a cabin and do my stuff.. that's my thing. I love advising. I don't really fascinate problem solving, but somewhat analytical and.. i am methodical. I work by examples/steps, it's like you tell me how to do it, that's what matters, not why you do it, and i'll utilize it to the maximum.
By the way, i'm almost 21. Old i know lol
After considering these, people have told me to stick to finance/ Human resource, or do psychology or something like that. But, i have always loved one thing: Student recruitment officers and employee recruitment officers. Pay is great too... but not over here in my part of the world.

Your problem is that you do not know what you like and that is why you are seeking for a job with great pay. Even if you get such a job in future, you may not find it amusing for a very long time. I suggest you instead to go for a career that you really like. Money automatically comes when you do something with full interest and dedication. Just give it some time to analyze what you really like. Is it engineering or finance? Gather all the information about possible career and jobs in both the fields. Then, go for what interests you more. Never regret the decisions you make, but always try to make them fruitful.

There are not many Engineering Economists, but they are in demand and very well paid, because most engineers are interested by that part.
