I am interested in working as a Customer Service Representative for your organization. With almost 3 years of experience in telephone and face-to-face customer service I am confident that my abilities and experience would make me an ideal candidate for a position at your company. I enclosed my resume as a first step in exploring the possibilities of employment with [your company].
My most recent experience is relaying messages at a multi-line answering service. I was responsible dispatching service calls, and relaying emergency calls to doctors and hospitals. In addition, I also processed credit card orders using data entry software.
As with your organization, I would bring a focus on quality customer service and offer excellent communication and telephone skills. Furthermore, I work well on my own and with others, and also have very strong computer skills. I am willing to learn the skills necessary to make my job successful at [your company].

I think it sounds excellent so far. Mention some aspects of confidentiality and how you judge who gets what information quickly and securely etc.

In this day & age, this is an important aspect to CSR type jobs - one e-mail can cost companies millions these days - e-mailling important information to competitors for example, etc.

I think it is a good cover letter. I used to run customer service centers. I like your enthusiasm. The only thing I would offer is if you could find a way in the cover to tie your qualifications and desire to the specific job you are seeking. e.g. if it is a call center that handles mutal fund calls express your interest in the financial services or if the ad stresses quality service mention how important making customers happy is to you. Oh yes, it sounds quite good actually. The beginning is a little bit abrupt, but that's ok....you can adjust it without a problem. Other tips:
