Question:
Do employers really look at online applications?
?

I've applied to various places a couple times or so over the past two years (on the internet), but I would not even get a phone call. I also heard of some locations that hire people only through paper applications despite that it's still possible for online apps to be sent (which I'm sure people still fill out). Do employers EVER look at online applications, or am I just wasting my time? :-/

Yes they do. Don't just expect them to call you though. You have to actually go to the business yourself and introduce yourself to the hiring manager. After that you have to constantly call every few days to see if they are interviewing yet or looked at you app. Anyone can apply but employers look for the ones who take the time to call or come in otherwise they don't think you are actually interested. I do this every time and I get the job while my friends only apply and never get a job.

You heard wrong.

If a company has an online applications, they almost always ONLY pay attention to thier online system. If you were to complete a paper application, they would scan the application into their online application system.

The online application systems have the ability to provide pre-screening capabilities.

You are wasting your time if you are NOT applying online.

Still the best way to find a job is via networking.

You should CALL, always call, no ifs ands or buts. I called and went in person before I got my job at American Eagle. You have to be up in there face and show them that you're interested or else you're just another girl looking for a job.
